About the art of being desire-fully alive or the union of your Eros and Psyche💕 The ancient Greco-Roman folklore tells us a story about the struggle for love and trust between Eros, the god of Desire or Love, and beautiful Psyche, the goddess of the soul, life or animating force. It says that Aphrodite, the mother of Eros, feeling jealous of the beauty of Psyche, sends her son Eros to make her fall in love with the ugliest creature on Earth. Instead, Eros falls in love with Psyche and takes her with him. Their idyll gets destroyed by Psyche's envious sisters and she loses the trust of Eros. He leaves her and Psyche wanders around the world to find him again. She eventually asks Aphrodite to help her and the goddess of Love imposes a series of difficult tasks on her which Psyche completes successfully. Aphrodite finally makes her immortal and she unites with her beloved Eros. Together they have a daughter Voluptas or Hedone meaning physical pleasure or bliss.
To me, that story brightly portrays the immortal union between desire and soul and as a result of this union: the birth of Pleasure or Bliss. Every day we are able to make a choice to come home or in other words, come to this beautiful reunion of our desires and soul. Every day we are given a choice to feel the pleasure emanating from our life force and create the Bliss that we are able to experience NOW. The modern world screams at us that We are not Enough, or that We are too Much, or maybe We lack this or that, that We need to do something extraordinary to become Whole, Happy, Sexy, Enjoying. Whereas the only thing we need to do is to make a choice: to come home and marry our Desire and Soul. To act, breathe, live, love, work, create from the Space of this Union. To turn our full attention to our bodies, listen to them, be silent, move along the route of whispering and forgotten desires. This alliance is always there waiting for you to come back and allow yourself sound, move, look, dance, express from the most vulnerable, hidden and unrevealed sides of your being. These parts of you are your strength, they don't make you small or insignificant, when accepted and honored they make you whole, desire-fully alive, sensually and ardently embodied and unforgettably magnificent. Can you hear your Eros and Psyche? What do they tell you?
